Sulaimaniya University granted a new PHD Title with Honor degree to Scholar Ridha Hassan Hussein for his thesis “Studying the Effect of L-Arginine and L-Carntine on Plasma Level and Blood Measures at Hypercholesterolemia Rats”.
In an interview with PUKmedia website correspondent, Dr. Ridha said “we made several studies and researches to study the effect of these drugs that I suggest to use as medicines to reduce the level of human blood cholesterol. Tests were made on rats and resulted in encouraging results were the drugs reduced the level of cholesterol in the rats’ blood and reduced the levels of LDL and HDL.”
“Concerning the side effects, we didn’t find any negative effect or changes in the liver tests percents of ALT, AST and ALP”, Dr. Ridha added.
It’s worth mentioning that Dr. Ridha is the head of Biology Department, Science College in Sulaimaniya University.
